Hi. All I do is put usb drive in usb slot. Switch on car and wait. Will start uploading then ask you for code. Car must be left on. Then I select what I want. So just uk maps etc update. No point installing rest of world.lol. if not going to use it.
Then it will install as show you progress till finished.

I would'nt worry too much about the update, in my experiance the amount of actual update for the UK is minimal...Its certainly not worth paying for if you had to pay for it after the free period has ended..Overexposed said:Hello. I don't actually worry but I would like to have it if it's available for free ... There are probably a couple of new national roads that interest me in it. And it's always a matter of "knowning what I bought"...They didn't tell me anything about updates back then . Just that the car comes with navi as a gift

You suppose to have 3 years free updates. I have also the L (Low) version and update process goes straight forward.Overexposed said:

How did you get the update file? If you download it from MyToyota then you can see if you have free software and map updates.
Did you register your multimedia at MyToyota properly?

I believe I did ... Since I downloaded it I also believe I have free updates ... It all seems fine until the car reads the usb and then says it's not for my system ... I think it has to do with my system version being 6.11.0WL... what does W stand for ? What is your version Kostas?
Now that I think of it , it's possible that I don't have the free updates ... but a 0 receipt was sent to me when I downloaded it ... I don't know... where do I see that ?
Other files that I tried to download said that they are not supported for my system ... but this downloaded normally had the 0 receipt and was read by the car fine

If you "bought" it for free then you 've got the 3 year updates.Overexposed said:

L stands for "low" (lower version Toyota touch 2 Go)
H stands for Hi (higher version Toyota touch 2 Go PLUS)
It should be compatible if MyToyota let you download it.
You probably has to visit your dealer to sort it out hopping that next updates will work from now on.
I personally installed every update till now (hopping for the best), but I never detect any changes. It's the same slow, poor multimedia and Navi that I bought 2,5 years before. My free period expires in March and I won't pay again. I use my mobile with google maps anyway. Faster, updated and easy to use.

Thanx for the replies ... I don t use it either too much ... I definitely prefer google maps and Waze even at the small screen of my phone ... the thing is I sometimes use it on long journeys where I don't actually need guidance and the route won't change until the end just to see what time I arrive to my destination ... at one of those trips I realized that a new national road from Domokos to Karditsa was not there and was wondering if it's on the new update along with other things ... I don't expect it to be any faster or better at all ! Unfortunately

Notified of what? If you do have paid for navigation or got it as a gift from the dealer you would know by now.Connos said:

Then you can see what is available for you and for how long.

I guess it's up to you ... If you follow the instructions in here you should be able to do this by yourself (I am facing problems) ... I believe a dealer could do that for you also ... What system version do you have ? It's under ρυθμίσεις - γενικά - πληροφορίες συστήματος I have 6.11 wl and it doesn't do it... if you have 6.13 I think it will be ok
