It's in the trunk. And yes, you can start another car, no problems.
Not advisable unless it's another Toyota hybrid your jump starting.

The 12 volt battery originally fitted is low amperage as its only really needed to power up the hybrid system.

A small update from me about my car.
Was seating collecting dust for a couple of weeks. It started absolutely normal. Can't say I was not pleasantly surprised, but I was kinda expecting to - we are driving quite a lot every month so 12V battery should be well charged at all times.
Ah, and I had another 15k km service late July. Second time this year and likely there's going to be another one this year.
I had to pull some strings to get it done as fast as possible - I had a commitment and it was fast service or reschedule. They were kind enough to accommodate so all done in less than 2h.
No issues whatsoever with the car.

Well...school runs and swimming training. Most months we're doing 3000km/month.
You'd be surprised how many highways Ireland has :D

Appear to have a problem with the jbl sound system. Speaker in the drivers door area keeps making what can only be described as a farting noise. I've tried turning the base down but still same problem. Has the speaker blown? Would this be covered under warranty?

Yeap, a blown speaker sounds like that!
In theory it should be covered. But it's usually a debatable area...speakers to blow even under normal use, even when nobody put any sharp objects into...

I bought a 2024 C-HR GR Sport Premier Edition. 2 days ago.
Super cool! Not really looking to buy 20" wheels, but it's the only version that comes with JBL. 20" are looking actually great!
Goods:
  • much more responsive, it feels like my Orange on Sport mode. While slightly quiet, not that Orange one is noisy, but one can hear the difference.
  • space...a bit incredible, it's slightly shorter, but inside and trunk are bigger. That's a bit of a miracle they made.
  • audio - it's still a wow! Entire multimedia system is different, but they managed to keep the audio at a great quality.
  • finally auto beam is working as it should, without having to push the lights lever
Bads:
  • they moved the start button from right to left. It's not more accessible, it's still fairly hidden, just on the other side. Good luck having to switch cars!
  • multimedia system is so different! Learning curve is significant, I'm still working! And I'm a tech'y person. But it's fast, like owning a decent mobile phone level of responsiveness. Good luck finding where to adjust treble/bass without reading the manual! Or how to get rid of the T&C :)
  • RSA - still struggling to find how not to blink when I exceed the road sign speed! It stops after ~30 seconds, but it beeps by default and it also blinks on heads-up display!
  • so many acronyms! Unless a corporate acronyms lover...good luck remembering what's that for! I believe this is a really bad move and a bit disrespectful for older people or people with little to no technical skills! One needs Google to figure out what's that for, or at least a laptop with manual in front! Granted, that's someone one does only a few times at the beginning and likely will never touch it again. PDA=Proactive Driving Alert in anyone's mind? And it's not like they don't have space on a 12" display to avoid using acronyms.
  • it beeps a LOT! By default it's a beeping machine! Everything beeps those days: oven, dishwasher, dryer etc. A car should not beep that much! An entire job to stop it beep for not important staff, like exceeding a bit the speed limit!

Overall, it still drives as a C-HR, it looks great and the cockpit is brighter!

Wow, sounds like you like it a lot, enjoy and let us have an update when you've had it a while and sorted out all the bleeps👍😂

Some interesting first impressions. 20" wheels are a liability with the state of the roads, I'd much rather have 17's if that were an option.
I didn't realise auto high beam was supposed to work like that but I don't use mine too often. My car beeps all the time and it is annoying as I don't think you can turn it off or if you do it all resets when you next start up anyway which is a pain. I do like the head and tail lights, much nicer than the old car. How are you liking the pop-out door handles and the electric boot opening?

Can't complain about quality of the roads in Ireland. Grant, some of those narrow B roads (government eventually reduced the speed limit, it used to be 80km/h on mad roads where 2 cars barely fit) are not great, but not bad.

If I would have the option to choose, I would buy again the 18" black rims I have on Orange.
Ride is good! Can't say I feel the difference, but really long rides will be the true test. Anyways both of us are a bit crazy in protecting the wheels and the rims. No scratches or mad parking.

Headlights are utterly impressive! A shade of blue coming I don't know why, but bright and excellent coverage. I wasn't expecting less, of they make it for Orange, they had to make it good again.

Door handles are cool and easy to use. Kids are enjoying it, I'm just meh.

Electric boot is something C-HR needed since the beginning. It's heavy and closing it was never trivial. Bonus, with a single press of a button the boot closes and the entire car locks. Not that I found it hard before to lock it directly from that button on the boot of the Orange.

I concluded RSA has a bug. I found the setting to make speed limit exceed stop beeping and flashing. Beeping is fairly quite, I could live with that (although it's stupid by all means). But flashing even for 10-15 seconds is disturbing enough, especially since the car came with heads-up display.
But every single time I stop the engine, that setting reverse. So next time it will start beeping and flashing.
I suspected it may be due to different user - like wife's key and phone - but is not the case. Even with her key&phone far far away (in a different galaxy) a stop&start will revert.
I'll reach out to Toyota - although is a software issue and I'm not expecting any traction anytime soon.

Fun observation: my wife is very much impressed on how much easier is to drive. Granted, wheels turning is much lighter. Sound levels are low enough to notice vs Orange. It seems it gets warmer faster - I only drove it one morning and I could tell that.
Tires...20" but the same Michelin that are losing traction just enough to notice. CrossClimate SUV I have on Orange are much much better!

Overall - beautiful car, easy ride, easy to drive! And love the JBL sound (speakers and woofer)!

Filled up the tank. 5.5l/100km. Considering how cold it was in Ireland, not bad at all!
A find that makes me happy: I don't have to "put" this one in P to turn off the engine. It's pressing of a button, not really moving the "lever" in P, there's no such position. That's one less thing to do, but at the same time is another reason for confusion - the Orange one has to be in P, but that one has actually a gear lever (not that one connects in any mechanical way with gearbox). I did read the manual, swear I didn't notice this! I did notice it when I was reading the book for the first C-HR and for the Orange one.

On negative - today I had a bit of time and I went for an automatic car wash. 14 euros to the bin. Shape of this car is too strange for those devices. Like 10% of the car was not properly washed! The same station washes my Orange one just fine.
Lesson learn: the last time I'm going to wash this one like that. I do have a high pressure washer at home and all I need to wash the car. Other than some rubber booths. That I need to buy to be able to was the cars at home.

Lesson learnt, didn’t use auto car washes unless you want swirls on t(e paint. Dreadful things
