Hi all,
As of yesterday afternoon the audio from my toyota smart connect is down.
The volume indicator increase/decrease is not apperaing when I press steering wheel commands or directly from the unit.
The rest of the fuctionalities ( eg BT, natsat) working well, but no audio or beep from the touchscreen are udible from the speakers. Do you know if is there any fuse related to the speaker only or not and just in case where's located?
Thanks a lot in advance for your coop

The JBL amplifier is located under the front left seat ( on right hand drive versions ) - check nothing has been dislodged with the wiring etc.

Updates: I went to toyota dealer this afternoon. They checked the ampli fuses but everything was fine. So next week I had to go back again because they need to check the entire assembly to define whats needed to be ordered ( under warranty :) they anticipated the cost of the entire toyota smart connect system it's really expensive (around 6000€). Stay tuned

I've not heard of failed Smart Connect unit yet but there is a Toyota dealer procedure for configuring a new unit to a vehicle so Toyota must have been prepared just in case.

I have seen one security locked elsewhere but no idea of the outcome on that one.

updates: I went last thursday to Toyota dealer and they investigated better. They said problem related to the amplifier. So they ordered it and they have to replace it (under warranty). So I need to wait the arrival of the new ampli for coming to the dealer again....

updates: I went today to Toyota dealer for the replacing the amplifier, but they didn't solve the problem. Even replacing the JBL amplifier but the head unit doesn't recognize the new amplifier unit anyway. Toyota techs reported me it doesn't seem an electrical problem, and that at this stage they stopped any further action, since they already had any possible action included and reporetd in in the toyota c-hr workship manual. They asked a technical support from Toyota motor italy in order to solve the issue. They would have further indication from them before to go ahead with further changes (eg connecting cables).

In the meantime, I discovered last time with the first action, toyota techs broke a plastic part of central air vents and they didn't inform me. So this afternoon I opened a claim with Toyota motor italy customer care in order to have a deep support with the hope to solve definetively. In my opinion this situation is absolutely not acceptable after less than 5000km and after 5 months of car life.

Updates: they solved changing again the ampli since toyota sent apparently fault items. Since that time I didn't receive anymore info about live traffic. Do you know if there's any dedicated hardware module for receiving info about live traffic?

Amplifier under front seat replaced OR the Smart Connect unit replaced?

Has the Toyota dealer carried out a DCM software update?

There is currently a campaign across UK / European market to update the firmware but last I heard it was on hold.

Look up at your SOS button to see which lights illuminate.

They change the ampli under the seat. Regarding the update they didn't inform me about that buy I don't believe they update the system. Referring to the ecall please could you tell me if it's related witu the navigation live traffic as well or not? Honestly I did not get the point. Tks

The DCM unit is for the cellular / mobile data connection that the vehicle uses both for eCall & the internet connection for live traffic etc.

The status lights on the SOS button will show if the DCM has a data connection - if the DCM cannot connect to the internet then none of the live traffic or mapping services will work.
