Hi everybody

Has anybody heard any rumours / got any leads on any updates coming for the 2022 model year C-HR?

I'm about ready to put a new build order in, but I'm holding on in case Toyota bring some equipment updates.

Regards

Lee

P.S. Considering my bad credit score I put much hope into this company https://carplus.co.uk/bad-credit-car-finance/ .
I hope that in the upgrade they don't dare to change the design much. In my opinion C-HR is one of the most attractive models by Toyota ever.

I did some homework and it seems that Toyota normally make changes over the christmas shutdown.

similar to a Lexus I had a few years ago, when I ordered in Dec and got car in March it had the new model year upgrades.

Doubt mine will be here until after April so should get whatever changes

UK changes as below. Just not sure when they start

2022 Corolla and Toyota C-HR: now with Toyota Smart Connect
Our latest Toyota Smart Connect multimedia system will be provided as standard or an option on all 2022 Corolla and Toyota C-HR models (pictured below) except those in entry-level Icon grade. Operated via an eight-inch high-definition touchscreen, this new platform takes connectivity and functionality to a higher level with a processor that operates 2.4 times faster than the current system.

As the name suggests, its features include instant access to a series of smart connected services, such as cloud-based navigation with live traffic information, 3D city mapping, highway signage and fixed traffic camera locations. All data and information is delivered via the communications module, so no phone pairing is required for smart connected services and no additional data costs are incurred.

Well either check online on a Friday & Monday for updates to the configurator OR ask your Toyota dealer nicely to contact you when the Deep Amethyst is actually available on there C-HR ordering system.

The sales person I was dealing with last week knew about the new Deep Amethyst colour but said it wasn't available to order just yet.

I am from Greece and can not get the underneath replies from the dealers so whatever help will be appeciated . First of all sorry for the rather big comment but honestly I'm confused. I am interested for the CHR and in particular the C-HIC
1 .. The configuration I have done does not mention it but because I see on the right side of the multimedia screen the MAPS button, but the brochure I downloaded says that I will have "Cloud Navigation System" which will be "free service for the first 4 years
  • After four years?
  • Cost?
  • Every when will upgrading be necessary ?
  • This does not mean a sim card with data?
  • The first 4 years the cost will be handled by (Toyota card and data) ?
  • and then it will be mine ?
  • what happened to the "old" traditional navi system with only satellite connection ?
2 .. My configuration, however, states that I will have a "Toyota Smart Connect Multimedia System"
- Question - is there a cost for this service?
3 .. Also my configuration states that I will have "MyT Connectivity Services"
if I understand correctly MyT consists of:
- MyT APP
(because I'm interested in the cost) I read on the TOYOTA site:
The connected services of MyT App will work for 10 years. Toyota will cover the cost of data used to provide connected services for 10 years, but the MyT App will work even without connected services. ( copy paste from toyota site )
- And after 10 years?
but the MyT App will work even without connected services
- so why is the connection required ?
MYT MULTIMEDIA SYSTEM (because I am interested in the cost) I read TOYOTA on the site:
For the first 3 years (NMSC Local Adjustment for duration) MyT Multimedia online navigation services are offered free of charge. After this period, you can purchase a subscription. The map care pack includes all our map updates and related online services and the service pack includes our online services. You can purchase a subscription to the e-Store. Find out in the e-Store for the latest prices. ( copy paste from toyota site )
The e-store I looked at also has free map updates and payment, what is the difference? Will I be okay with the free?

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately it varies a lot country by country!
What's available in Greece may not be available in Ireland or UK. And even some T&C may be significantly different. Your best bet is the dealer.

Generally speaking, built in maps in any car I ever drove are not as good as Google Maps. Your car will have both Android Auto and Apple integration and you'll have 3 years ahead to decide if you would prefer to keep paying for built-in navigation updates. My Orange car didn't came with built-in navigation (although brochure said it will), but I can't care less. I had Toyota's navigation in my previous C-HR and, although not bad, it's leagues behind Google Maps or Waze.

Toyota Smart Connect Multimedia System does come with a sim card installed in the car. If they say they are covering the costs for 10 years...that's nice. After 10 years cost can't be high, think about a data only SIM from Vodafone, it's just a few Euro per month.
How useful MyT will be with the new multimedia system... can't help here. Someone with this system can chip in.

It won't be the SIM or data connection that's the issue with Smart Connect live services - it will be the individual Smart Connect unit installed in your vehicle serial number that allows it access to the live traffic information etc.

Once your free subscription period runs out, unless you pay to renew it you will find your unit serial number just won't get any live traffic etc updates.

Resubscribe at a later date & live traffic information will burst back in to life.
