Is anyone else a little disgruntled after buying their Toyota CHR where all the advertising and sales pitch told you that you would be getting 70mpg and now you’re told the mpg is only 50?! If so, watch this space because I’m looking for a law firm that will take it on for a no win no fee!
Cheers Doug
70 or 50 mpg?
Re: 70 or 50 mpg?
What ? The advertised mpg is done under controlled laboratory conditions and is not obtainable on normal driving. Although a new testing regime was brought in during 2017 ( WLTP ) you will not achieve advertised figures. They depend on driving style, road conditions, speed and environmental conditions.

Re: 70 or 50 mpg?
With mainly around town driving I get around 50mpg on my 2.0l model, on a run nearer to 60mpg. Best reading was on a short run of a few miles, mainly downhill where it read 99mpg +.
I drive in normal mode, I haven't tried economy and I tend to enjoy the acceleration now and again so overall am happy with the mileage that I'm getting.

Re: 70 or 50 mpg?
49 is my average, and thats a mix of local, regional and motorway traffic . Its the 2018 older 1.8 hybrid model. Thats just driving, not paying attention to anything and most of the time flooring it from the red lights. (kid in me.....)I do stick to the limits (+5) and I only drive like a nutter when at the red lights. I do drive like the grandpa I could be (54 years old) the rest of the time.

Re: 70 or 50 mpg?
I put my in sport mode and give it some stick, got home and it told me my average was 34 mpg.
It does go well though.
