I am (still) interested in switching TT2 to ym. 2020 multimedia system

Post by raija » Wed Mar 25, 2020 8:51 pm

I have a 2017 C-HR and it has an old and bad Toyota Touch 2 and Go (TT2). I've been trying to figure out whether my C-HR TT2 can be replaced with a 2020 model multimedia device. It seems to me that the space and size of the dashboard are the same for both models, so I believe that the installation could be done with reasonable effort. But the suitability of the wiring harness is unclear.

I have asked this thing in Finland Toyota service and Toyota Finland, but always get the same answer: probably the wiring harness does not fit. "Probably" is not a very professional answer, is it?

I do not speak English well enough to search for definite information / pictures on the wiring harness or the 2020 model rear connectors.

Does anyone know of any new infomation about multimedia device (manufacturer, part numbers, etc.).

The picture shows the back of an old player.

I would guess that the software may be different regardless of connectors.

Think part number will be different to denote new model year. Other than that, it will be software and possibly a control module change.

I know the software is not the same, of course, but the question is how much it has changed. If the navigator is the same as before, the operation (=input data) is probably the same. And I don't think the antenna connections have been changed, nor is the USB connection etc.

It's one problem is that I can't find the part number.

Thanks for the Malc1975 pictures. I look forward to them with interest.
