Whirring Sound from the rear

Post by Gjb » Thu Oct 10, 2019 5:08 pm

I drive a 2017 1.8 CHR Hybrid, owned from new with 34,000 miles clocked. Despite having completed a full service last month and having new Pirelli PZero tyres fitted I have noticed an audible whirring sound emanating from the rear of the car. It is increasingly apparent when travelling on smooth roads when the usual road rumble noise is reduced travelling at between 30-40mph.

I don’t think it’s a failing wheel bearing as the source of the sound seems routed central to the rear. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Thanks in advance.
Regards
George

Are you sure its not the tyres? Often new tyres whirr a bit on smooth roads.
All the best
