Car body paint protection

Post by Berniej1309 » Sun Feb 24, 2019 11:38 pm

I would like to ask forum members when buying their cars.
When we bought ours recently and at the point of sale we were offered the usual extras on top of the vehicle price.
We paid £250 to have Toyota at Bromsgrove fit our next base dash cam which so far has worked very well.
We also paid £449 to have the car covered with 'supagard' which is meant to protect the paintwork but also when the car is dirty all we are supposed to do is hose the car NOT power wash and the dirt is removed !
No it doesn't, all it does is leave the water smears and more time spent with a leather going over the car a few times.

Have we been duped into paying £449 or did anyone else have the same 'supagard' offer?

Please use forum search - search.php?keywords=supagard&terms=all
You would've found - it's not worth the money

I had it free when I got the car. I find it don't take much effort to clean my car. I wash. Rinse then dry it. And it comes up nice and shiny without having to polish it. Just had toyota dash cam fitted as well. Looks better than my next base hanging down.

Seems to be a UK dealer thing ,
Had it applied to not sure of cost as it was all in deal ,
Don't think its worth a lot but if it helps protect paint can't do any harm ..

I also had it free when I purchased my car,I can’t say I’ve noticed any difference.
I asked if the value of the Supaguard could be knocked off the invoice, they declined!
