Servicing, HHC and warranty

Mine is due for a 3rd year service soon. As the intermediate service is £190 - which is oil, filter, visual checks and hybrid health check ( HHC ), I thought I’d look around to get servicing done.

I’ve found numerous garages offering to do service from £90 - £180. With this in-mind, is it necessary to have to Hybrid Health check done - if car is still within manufacturers warranty? Cost of check is £45.

Thinking service at £100 for stamp in book and VAT receipt, then £45 for HHC - if necessary?

Has anyone not had car serviced at dealer?

Servicing can be carried out anywhere - providing they are VAT registered and use genuine parts.

Don’t quote me on this but I think the “hybrid warranty” is dependant on having a hybrid health check every year. For the sake of £40 I personally would have the health check done every year just to make sure I’m covered. Probably be £1000’s to repair a hybrid system if it went wrong.

Agree with that. Toyota site states hybrid health check every year, warrants hybrid battery for 15 years.
Toyota also state they price-match any quote within 10 mile radius of local dealer ( using genuine parts).

I don't think you stand any chance of the dealer replacing a faulty HV battery free of charge, they don't even want to replace faulty 12v batteries free of charge under warranty.

They replaced my 12v battery under warranty with no hassle

Think the basics are:- General servicing can be carried out at any Garage - providing genuine parts are used & they are VAT registered. Hybrid Health-check has to be carried out by Toyota Dealer (but not sure if this applies whilst car is still under warranty). Will find out next week when my car goes in for warranty work.
