Speedometer display failing to remain.

Let me know the result, would be appreciated.
In my case, I set the display to speedo and while the car is running all is fine.
On coming to a halt, engaging park and pressing the start button to turn off engine, when later the car is started again, the speed display sometime returns on starting but more often than not, the mpg display appears.
Have also found the seat hydraulic strut raise and lower, is losing pressure and has to given a few pumps every so often to raise.

It's seems to be starting on the speedometer. Other half is keeping an eye on it as they get to go out during the week while I'm chained to my desk working.
