Radar warning light

Yesterday, my radar warning light came on. Basically telling me the radar warning system was not active.
As it was raining heavily, I assumed it was due to this, plus the fact I’ve been having some building work done ( loads of dust around ).
When I got home, I quickly cleaned the badge area on grille and it cleared the fault.

I’m slightly alarmed that rain can affect the radar system so easily. I suppose though, it errs on the side of caution if there is a any slight interference with it filed of view.

Anyone had the same issue?

P.S. it’s amber warning at top of right hand clock during system check.

Yes I have had that in heavy rain, but I think was the camera by the rear view mirror that was getting blocked. (Wet leaf stuck there).

It is the only time I have had that. In a heavy rain storm on the motorway. Never happened since so nothing to worry about.

I thought the camera in screen was for Roadsign recognition and auto headlamp beam assist? Radar behind grille is for cruise?

Might be a coincidence in my case.

It is the light for the radar sensor located behind the emblem on your grille.

With the warming light there was no message like "clean radar sensor"? That can happen in heavy rain or when it is dirty.
Sometimes the light and error can dissapear in few miles.. otherwise a quick wipe over the Toyota logo will be ok. Sometimes it need a restart.

No message. Just warning light. I cleaned the emblem and it was OK after.

I know through working in car manufacturing that:- radar unit behind grille is for cruise and camera top of screen is Road Sign recognition and auto high beam.

It's happened to me once in heavy rain, soon cleared itself though. I also had the same problem with my previous car, a Nissan Pulsar, so it isn't just the C-HR that suffers from this.
