Issue with Bluetooth "Audio is off"

Post by r.benechas » Tue Aug 13, 2019 6:11 pm

Hello guys 👋

Once I leave the car with Bluetooth connection last used and return to car next day, bluetooth connects automatically but once I open Spotify on my phone, I get the message "Audio is off" on the Toyota Touch and Go 2 screen and each time I need to change audio input to radio or any other and then back to Bluetooth to be able to play Spotify.

I wanted to ask if everyone has this as standart or not?

Sounds like you have to open Spotify first on your phone. I assume car checks for BT audio, but if all apps are closed, there's no audio and it just turns it off. Maybe?

On mine, Bluetooth in the phone is Allways on,
If Bluetooth is already selected in the car when i turn car on, even if Spotify is off in the phone (app completely closed) it does start by itself,
Sometimes I have to close Spotify and open phone audio app instead if I want to listen to music stored on the phone.
Maybe it's different in each from phone brand/model

Do you have and Android or iPhone?

I have visited Toyota dealer today. With Android phone the music starts to play automatically, even if the app is closed, however not the same with iPhone :/

It's kind a strange because sometimes when I switch between different audio sources (e.g. Radio, Bluetooth) it starts to play automaticaly, though sometimes you I need to open Spotify and tap play, then it shows "Audio is off" on the car screen and once I change the audio source to radio and back to bluetooth, then it starts to play.
