Code is not validated from the internet.
I always copy the code into "Activation Code.xml" found to the root of the USB. It's obvious where to paste it when you open it with notepad.
So the process goes straight and doesn't ask to input manually the code.
I never had to write it or print it. No mistakes are possible.
Please can you copy and paste the contents of the activation file, just in case mine has become corrupt.

Cheers
There you are:

<?xml version= "1.0" ?><ACTIVATIONCODES><map code= "1111-2222-3333-4444"/></ACTIVATIONCODES>

Just replace 1111-2222-3333-4444 with your code. Open notepad, paste the above with your code and save as activationCode.xml.
Then replace yours to the root of your USB stick.
Toyota C-HR (C-Enter) Hybrid. Happy owner.

Thanks. Yes that’s the same format as mine. Have copy and pasted in but still error. Let’s wait and see what Toyota come back with.

Worked fine for me. Downloaded the zip, upacked it ( and it did not create a new directory, just unzipped to the directory I pointed it at) copied the acivation code into the activation code fule (which was there as usual), copied the contents to a usb drive and plugged it into the car. 30 mins later all done. (One detail I discovered is that you can drive the car whilst it updates itself, you dont have to sit and watch it).
All the best

Jsstevo, any progress? I'm having the same issue with this update, updates in the past went fine...

Ah yes. All sorted now. I emailed Toyota and they provided a new download and new key.

There was a second device ID registered on my account.

Looks like I have a different problem. Once I remove the XML file to enter the code manually, I get the error "mount ISO failed" (or something like that). Looks like the copying of the files went wrong.

It might be the removal of the file that is causing that.

Mmm. Thought that file was optional. I'll place it back. Think I will do a full download and copy again.

Make sure you’re unzipping to the USB, not copying the files over.

I actually unzipped the files to the PC desktop first, the altered the activation file and then copied them over to the USB.
