Differences in other forums I use to this one

Post by MarkyMUK » Sun Feb 26, 2017 9:47 pm

1) No Like or Thanks button (mentioned by Ans in another thread)
2) For a UK domain it uses American spelling 'colour' for instance comes up as a misspelled word
3) No email notification when a thread you've created or are subscribed to receives a reply
4) Country of poster should be mandatory as sometimes it may not make sense (e.g colours & model designations)

Now, I should say that I've been members of the other forums for many years and they've always had 1-3 for as long as I've been a member (oldest is 12yrs) so am wondering why such a startlingly different looking vehicle deserves such an outdated forum...is it a matter of cost?

Hi,
The forum is using PHPBB, one of the most well know forum software packages available.

The Like / Thanks thing is something I really want but at the moment there just isn't a reliable plugin available.

For the spelling thing, when does it come up as mis-spelt? If I type colour here it doesn't show as an error.

Notifications are available, check your member control panel to make sure they're switched on for you.

I like the country idea and will look at adding that.

Thanks

That is nothing to do with the board software as there is no spell checker in this software - it is the dictionary plug-in of your browser.

Thanks David, but if that were the case why doesn't it do the same on Jaguar or Audi forums, same browser and same plug in?
