Chas you need to take it back to the dealer. Get them to demonstrate on another car ..................

I have the system on auto but aircon off.
As soon as I press the windscreen demistify button. The aircon is turned on and the fan speed increases, as far as I can tell, to one step below maximum.

I don't recall it 100%, but I believe there are settings for its behavior in Techstream.

I'm the same. And it works well...better than in my previous RAV4.

Had mine 5 days, notes it mists easily. This morning after snow and frozen screen, used the fast/eco button set to fast and had no misting at all. Handbook isn't to clear on this setting.
