Speed Voice Warning

Post by Big AL x01x » Sat Jun 23, 2018 9:03 am

Hi All,
I’ve had my C-HR 6 days now and I’m loving it. It’s a Dynamic Hybrid in Decuma Grey on the South Coast of the UK.

Anyway, when I test drove before buying the car it had an audible female voice warning if the speed limit was exceeded. On my shiney new car I only have a couple of beeps and a warning on the instrument display.

Am I missing something or have Toyota removed the voice for a beep instead?

( Apologies if this is elsewhere in the forum, I did search but couldn’t find anything. )

If you have the sat nav voice disabled then you wont get the ladys voice (for satnav or speed warnings). on sat nav screen it is the button on the rhs with a cross in it.
All the best

Ah maybe you have to have the satnav operating too (ie with a destination set up). Not sure.

Hello guys/gals, you don't have to be in a satnav mode to have the speed voice warning working. it's there in the setting. can't pinpoint exactly where it is but it is there. trust me. apart from the beeping sound, you will have that voice saying the speed of the road you are in.

Found it. Its a setting in main menu -> navigation menu.
You can turn on/off the speed limit symbol on the big screen and turn on/off the spoken warning when exeeding the speedlimit.

Ah I see. I’ve found it now. It was under Map settings which seemed odd but it was there, hidden away. Thank you.

Is that the navigation menu on the big screen.
Just being caught at 36 and received letter - very upset as this is my first in 40 years driving. I forgot to put speed limiter on and the new camera vans now have a range of 1000 meters. I couldn't even see it on this very long road near me untill I passed it. Very clever positioning to catch people!
I now have the map showing all of the time but couldn't press the voice X as it was greyed out.
Which button on the main screen do I go into please.

Thanks,
Craig.

If you’ve had a letter of warning, you won’t get points. If it was a handheld radar gun, they are not calibrated enough to fine you. If it was from a mobile van, you’re allowed +10%. Some counties also allow +2mph on top of the 10%.
