Dash cam

Has anyone installed a dash cam, if so what type and how good is it. I'm looking to get one.

When I was talking to the guy in the service department at my local dealers about a dash cam I was advised that with all the technology around the windscreen not to have one - in fact they have been known to cause problems with the electrics stopping working.

Also I would be very reluctant to have anything anywhere near the windscreen until the "cracked windscreen" issue is totally resolved.

Tell them they should read something about dash cams without any wireless technology.

I have one mounted on the front screen, as long as it's not on the chequered part of the screen it's fine. It has never interfered with anything on the car. My screen has been replaced but the crack was no where near the camera.

Mine operates with a dash cam, no problems. Would not want to be without one. In the GT86 I have front and rear facing cams. Other road users following tend to keep a more respectful distance now. Would fit rear facing in the C-HR too, but I suspect the lifting tailgate may cause issues.
All it takes is a glance to make you look twice.......C-HR Excel Hybrid in black for family, Toyota IQ for town, and for fun a supercharged Toyota GT86.

Any reason for this? I think that's where I've installed mine!! The only problem I get is the field of vision, to the near side, is slightly impaired due to the big black box already on the screen. I'll take some pictures of mine and upload them tomorrow.
