Yet Another GR Sport

Hi all
Been watching and reading for a month or so now, so thought it about time I joined.

Ordered our GR Sport 1.8 Satin Grey late Feb 2022, initially told delivery would be 02/09/2022 but its been in Derbyshire for a few days now so not long.

Been doing all the "Status Diving" bit which has allowed us to follow it on Coral Leader all the way to Portbury which has enhanced the buying experience. The eta was showing 24/06 but changed end of last week to 16/06, dealer is still adamant its the 24th so lets see if we know more than they do. :)

This is a replacement car for my wife so felt the 1.8 would be enough and its more economical allegedly. Only asking dealer to install dashcams front and rear. Other than that I will be installing mud flaps, boot liner and rear bumper protector.

Interestingly the week end we ordered we met a neighbour in the dealer who also ordered a 1.8 GR Sport but in the red and they are still being told October?

My dealer was adamant, mine was going to be there on the 17/06, it turned up on the 10th. I followed mine on Emerald Leader all the way.
Keep an eye on the status diving, as once mine was in Derbyshire it was changing on a daily basis.
In the end I only chose Dash Cams to be fitted. Because the prices they were quoting for other jobs were ridiculous. I've already got mudflaps which I will do myself, and will probably buy wind deflectors as well.

Looks like quite a few arrive at the dealers a week or so sooner than expected. Maybe they build that in as a safety margin, so people don’t hassle the dealer chasing the car the day it arrives?

I added mudflaps, only cost £99, which saved me me hassle of fitting myself (fairly sure have to remove rear wheels but could be wrong, and drill holes for fixing - why take the risk?) which I thought was reasonable.
More members for team GR Sport 😂

I'm happy to take the wheels off to fit the mud flaps as I do it anyway when I want to do a full clean, gives me the chance to clean the insides of the wheels and also the arch liners.

While the wheels are off this time I intend to apply a Ceramic coating especially for wheels and exterior plastics, so can also do the arch liners to make cleaning easier. Then I have a tyre "Coating" rather than a "Dressing" that is supposed to last for 6 months. Been watching too many Car Detailing channels afraid :)
Well that looks like another win for Status Diving over the dealer. :)

My T app has updated and also received email giving confirmation that the car has arrived at the dealer today and not the 24th as they had insisted.
