Windscreen Wipers

Hi all. Got my C-HR last summer and driven 7000 miles. Absolutely love it. The drivers side windscreen wiper has recently failed to function properly in so much as it leaves smears when attempting to clear rain. From previous experience in other cars I would say it was time to replace the wipers but it seems too early. Is there an adjustment that can be made to improve performance or is this usual for this car? Thanks.

I've recently replaced the front wiper blades on mine - I fitted Bosch Aerotwins.

FWIW - I did have a replacement windscreen fitted back in December & wasn't sure if the wipers had been damaged by the crack in the screen so wasn't bothered about replacing the wiper blades.

My C-HR has around 7.2k miles on it.
Clean the wiperblades first.. a household degreaser on a cloth will do the job.
A good clean of the screen can help a lot too. Use Autoglym Glass Polish for that.

Milage is not always the wiper killer, it’s getting stuff under the blades and causing tears.

I clean my screen way more often than the rest of the car, sometimes after a 200 mile drive if enough crud or insects hit it. I keep some Autoglym fast glass and a microfibre in the boot, only takes two minutes and way better.

+1 on Bosch Aerotwins as replacements, used these for a while, really good blades

Clean it properly and plan for Aerotwins. They are not expensive and much better when driving fast.
