Has anybody bought this kit off Official Toyota ??

They advertise the front and rear kit [PW16210000], they also advertise an installation kit [PW16210001]

Is the installation kit part of the main kit, or does it need to be bought separately.

I've looked at the fitting instructions, but they don't seem to mention it.

I tought Ans has the winddeflectors from Toyota

I think an alternative is Climair a well know brand

The price is lower and no rivets like the Toyota one

I bought the front and rear for £76 and the fitting kit is included,so I don't know what is in it unless it is the 3m glue activator which I already had. All from eBay Toyota official store if in doubt ask them as I would like to know what's in the kit too.
It's easy to do pull down window rubbers a little bit. Clean trim, stick on wind deflector and then line up and insert clips 15mins aside

Oh when you push the rubbers back in the window frame check they are seated right as the can go in wonky

I have never really seen the point of window deflectors. In the days of pre Aircon cars perhaps yes but the only time I ever open my car windows is to get a ticket out of a barrier. Driving around with windows open also affects aerodynamics and fuel economy more adversely than having your air con on eco and the air is filtered though the cars air con.

DuncanM, I also thought so, but with C-HR I changed my mind. Driving in a city at low speeds when weather temp. is around 20-25 is nice and fuel consumption probably is less than using air cond. Always did so with my previous cars - used to open rear windows a bit (5-10cm). Tried couple of times with C-HR - I don't know how it's called, but the wind begins to resonate(?) and the noise is so loud you can't hear your passenger even with the music off. That's when I started considering wind deflectors, even if they look terrible :/

i had the wind deflectors fitted as an extra prior to picking up the car , they certainly do work even at higher speed no wind buffeting through the window also add to the appearance of the car

Thanks Ans,

I've just had an email off them. And they are saying the installation kit is needed.

So I'm still a bit confused.
They emailed me back about an hour later, saying it wasn't needed. Said it was an extra set of fixings, just incase something went wrong when fitting.

thought it seemed a bit weird needing another fitting kit ,getting back to what Duncan has said about aerodynamics i think you will find being designed for the car they should actually help with cutting the drag down with the windows open giving you the best of both worlds, ,and surely with a pre aircon cars you would want the air flow through the car so you wouldnt want wind deflectors so that seems a bit confusing :?
anyhow the answer is in there name ,they deflect wind away from the window cutting drag stopping noise and generally looking good ,
but i get it if you dont like them

And they do make a difference to that wind disturbance/thrumming you feel in your ears (which is quite unsettling)

Yes I do know what the list price is, so when they quoted me that i jumped at the chance!

They also did the auto window open/close mod at the same time, so now when at work on a sunny day I lower the windows 10 mins before leaving and the car's bearable and I don't need the aircon :)

Is the auto window thingy something that can be done via software, or is it messing around with wiring ??
