Does anybody use and leave connected an ipod (80gb claasic) to their multimedia system ??

Does it go back to the very 1st track alphabetically, everytime the ignition goes off.

Is there a setting in the system or ipod that can be changed to stop it doing this ??

Have to check,
I just connected an iPod classic 60, the iPod mini and and an iPhone 3GS, to see if it worked and it did I most of the time play music in shuffle mode..
Will check later..

I've just updated to the latest map update, and my ipod is now going back to the very first track alphabetically again.

Wish i could remember what I did the last time.

Same for me, it has been always like this. I started to disconnect the iPod cable every time right after ignition goes off and connect it back after the ignition goes on. Only must switch media (music) on and select iPod manually. But the tracks then continue normaly from the poit it was disconnected.
Also keep experiencing a bug when the iPod freezes and must be restarted. Pretty annoying.

I've been using an iPod Classic 80Gb for the last year in an Auris (Touch and Go 2) and will soon (10th May) be moving it into my new CHR.

I get the same 'revert to first track alphabetically' problem, but it doesn't particularly annoy me as I can simply hit the shuffle button on the screen and it always goes to a different track each time. Also, I tend to use my Playlists a lot and just go 'random' when I'm not sure what mood I'm in.

Fortunately, I haven't had it freeze on me too often.

My iPod classic will not work in the CHR but my friends iPhone will. Is there a certain earliest version that will work. Mine is very old so I was wondering what the oldest generation of Classic or Touch is hat will work if I have to change. If they all should work then I might just need a new cable?

I'd try a new cable first, as my classic is about 14 years old, and works.

Yes, try a new cable as my 2006 classic works without any problem and also keeps the memory of the last song it has played.

Hi. Anyone have a fix for the issue of going back to track one issue. Driving me mad when on random or an album, you come back to car it plays from track 1 on songs. I'm using a i pod touch, which operated perfectly on touch system on a GT86. There is a update for mapping and touch system though from above comments this doesn't work. Is there something in the settings I'm missing. Thanks.
