Update windscreens

10765 Views 25 Replies 11 Participants Last post by  Karmalakas
Has anyone had windscreen replaced yet ?
And if so has everything worked out well or are you still having issues?
As the last conversation is that the dealership I purchased from was receiving twenty screens but getting them is a bit of a problem i.e. Demand is quite high at the minute
And if the supply is an issue how long are we expected to wait ?
What is classed as reasonable ?
I am hoping that I don't hear of a failed second screen!!

Yes my friend I understand the link you sent
The key word is update thanks
I know screens are cracking all over I am asking the Above questions as a further update
Are they being fixed asap or not
I have been waiting now over two weeks!!
If you've read the topic, you would know the screens are fixed as soon as dealers get replacements and these replacements seems to be a better quality. Waiting time varies depending on dealer I suppose
So any of the above questions I've asked you personally cannot answer thanks for the input but none of it helps mr karmalakas
So the questions go out to those who have had a replacement
Those currently in talks over a replacement
And those being fobbed off by the dealerships !!!!
And before those who say teething issues we are Guinea pigs new car etc etc
This car was shown at Geneva motor show in 2014 who much time do they need to get it right?
I didn't spend £29000 to be a tester otherwise I would have expected a big discount !!!!
And yes I love the look of the car love the drive the way its presence on the road gets people to second look !
I've built this car on Toyota website more than fifty times besotted with it !!!
So I'm asking questions to get a clearer picture from people who know it's happening to them now
They have answers I possibly need to know we are all in this together
My biggest concern is that there is now over a hundred cars with damaged screens and more to come even those not sold yet !!!
All need to be changed
Where is toyota uk with a response to this now ever increasing problem!!

Once again step by step (and you don't need to have an issue if you've read the topic, because all the answers are there) :)

Has anyone had windscreen replaced yet ?
- Yes (a lot)
And if so has everything worked out well or are you still having issues?
- No one has had an issue repeat (or they didn't say anything, which I doubt)
And if the supply is an issue how long are we expected to wait ?
- Depend on a dealer, because some had replaced in a couple days and some in a few weeks time
What is classed as reasonable ?
- Reasonable what? Waiting time? New glass durability?

You also should understand the difference between concept car, where almost nothing works and it's just for show, and a production vehicle. You shouldn't compare production Toyota C-HR with concept Scion C-HR. You are a guinea pig by your own choice and you should have known that before buying a completely new model in the market.

The problem itself is actually the same as it was - only the number of complaints are increasing. Problem isn't getting any worse.

I don't mean to offend any one and it's not personal. It's just people (lots of them) who don't want to spend some time reading even if the link what to read is provided.

All the answers to your questions can be found in the topic. If you do not have time to read it, just please at least be honest and tell so, and maybe some one (like me now) will waste their time to collect all the answers to one place.

I agree with you the minimum you may aspect from Toyota UK
(and another country,s) is a press release. After all the testing they did.
I don,t onderstand why it is not noticed before and if
it was noticed why it is not solved.
I've read back to front thanks mr karmalakas

Not quite sure why you feel the need to be so rude to another member to be honest?
They were trying to help. All of what you are discussing is on the other topic already.
That is all they were trying to convey to you.
Ok I have read the topic and posted on the topic
I am looking for individuals who are dealing with ,had done the windscreens
Not somebody spouting what he has read and repeating the same again in a very rude manner !!!
Facts that's the name of the game not what I've read
Facts and truths
The problems growing they keep selling cars !!!!!
Merlywerly have you got a problem with your car ?
Merlywerly is your car ok !
Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude - I just don't make things sweet.
I still can't see which questions are left unanswered. It's not me who said their screens were replaced and didn't have any issues since. It's the members who had their screens replaced and didn't have any issues since.

As far as I understand, you just want them to repeat the same in this separate topic on the same issue. In that topic not only complaints their windscreen cracked, but also outcomes of the replaced windscreens and the process of replacing.

I really don't believe you've read the topic. If you did, you'd have found the answers there.
Update
If your car has no issues with its windscreen congratulations this is not a question for you
If you have issues with your windscreen please feel free to read the first post and message all information will be welcomed
Many thanks

My car does not have an issue, yet. That does not mean people don't have information to contribute. My post was factual. I was with my Toyota Fleet Business Manager and he showed me the email from Toyota detailing the issue and the resolution and the fact they were considering a recall.
Sharing information is what this forum is all about. Ignoring what people say and being outright rude to them will do nothing more than stop people wanting to help.

Your attitude to forums members trying to help is odd. The only rude post I have read so far has been yours after someone tried to help.
If you also can not tell that I was trying to calm things down and intervene then this post and you are a lost cause.

I will state the same thing I did before. I hope you get your screen replaced and the replacement is ok for you.
So no problems then thanks For the reply
The post does not effect you
As for being rude you really need yet again to read the post before my reply the hight of rudeness picking apart somebody's posts with no substance in his posts as he does not have any issues like yourself
Please save your fingers
The post is intended yet again for people with current windscreen issues
My car was supposed to be done tomorrow, has now been put off until Thursday, said they are waiting for a part to my other half, not sure what part is needed for a windscreen, but I will let you know once the work has been carried out, still love the car though, looks great.

I am hoping that I don't hear of a failed second screen!!
As far as I am aware I was one of the first if not the first to notice a crack in my windscreen (on the day I collected it on the 1st of march 2017)
No more issues
Took 3 Days for my replacement screen.
I wasn't fobbed off, in fact the staff at my dealership were excellent and sympathetic.
I have asked the question in the Forum if anyone had a second failed screen and no response to date.
Other than the screen problem which I view now as a minor inconvenience the car is excellent
Enjoy your car Pad1966uk
