Hi everyone.

One thing that annoys me to some degree is the lack of lighting in the cup holders and doors. In the promo pics, the blue light looks super nice, as can be seen here:

But in reality, you can't see squat. When checking out the car at the dealer, I literally had to put my head below the steering wheel to see any blue light at all. Needless to say, a far cry from the promo pics where the entire cup holder is beautifully illuminated.

Am I alone in my disappointment? :) I think it would add a very nice touch to the interior. During the test drive, I took it to a tunnel specifically to see if maybe they become brighter when it's dark outside, but nothing. For those who already have their cars, can it be adjusted somehow so it would become brighter or is it just one of those blatant lies to make a product look nicer?

It wasn't enough to make me not want to buy the C-HR or anything (waiting for my model right now) but false presentation just irks me.

Cheers.

Errr . Sorry. But why do you need a cup holder too be illuminated? It's for holding cups. Or am I missing something?
Car makers have long perfected the art of using photos to give a good impression in their glossy brochures.

It's not about if someone needs something or not. It's about how thing are advertised and what is delivered.

It definitely had the lights but you just can't see them when sitting. Really have to look low and then you can just barely see them below the edge. Might as well not be there. Checked multiple models.

And yes, it's about how something is advertised. It's one thing to have a glossy brochure, something else entirely to have a feature that's so mis-advertised it might as well not even be there. Cup holders are for cups, indeed. But the light would be mighty useful at night.

Anyway, like I said, certainly not enough to put me off from the purchase. Still love the C-HR and can't wait for mine to arrive, but certainly enough irk me. It's just false advertising.

It is not bad at all in the dark and look like the brochure. Wait till you have the Car and look again.

Checked it out tonight :
They illuminate full when you open the door (together with the dome light). They go off when the dome light goes off.
When you start the car with gear in P it will illuminate full, in all other gears it will dimm.

That's a bit strange actually. It would be nice if the light were on when driving as well, it shouldn't be distracting at all considering its dimness. Don't really drink in the car myself and people probably shouldn't when the car's actually moving, though we all know people do it all the time. It would be much safer to have them on when driving as well.

Oh well, can't have it all :)
