Am I the only one freaking out with my new CHR. I bought it a month ago for my birthday. 2 weeks later it was towed to the dealership. The car would start. They found nothing. Today as I'm parking ,my car accelerated so fast by itself that I almost hit the curb. I Had to hit the brake so hard and fast that I'm in bed with lower back pain. So devastated. I contacted toyota, the dealership. Will get it checked tomorrow. Am I the only one having this issue?

Wow. Hope you get better soon. What engine do you have? (1.2 or hybrid?).
I have had 3 hybrids now over 10 yrs and never had anything like this.
As a thought, might you have been using the cruise control on thta journey (as that can cause the car to accelerate by itself)?

Check your 12v battery fluid level and resting voltage. Mine is 12.3v max which i consider very poor. Then i found out the battery was low on fluid and some of the cells have started falling apart with evidence of plate shedding inside. I think this has been the cause of my ecu getting fried etc etc. This battery cannot handle 100+amps the dcdc converter can provide.

Im looking for a better agm one designed for these numbers.

I have noticed the car lurched forward when I forgot to put the car in park mode before turning the car off. The CHR does not like that, and insists you cycle through turn on/park mode/turn off before properly shutting down, and starting up again.
Now this is not accelerating at speed, but it did surprise me.
