Is there a short cut button or similar to select the Sport Mode or is it only selectable through the central display settings

What he said 😀
I have made a hack on the can bus with an Atmega32u4 microprocessor. I use this to auto lock and unlock the doors. I can also set the drive mode. I don't have a button yet. But since most of the time I use it to sprint away at a traffic light I can now press the brake paddle to "the floor". It will activate sport mode. As soon as I start driving again it will be set back to the previous mode (eco/normal) after 15 seconds.
I can also "remember" sport mode. So when the car is turned off and back on again it will activate sport again.
I used to hack my Android mobile, my laptop, my KTM adventure 990 (Tune Ecu) . Looks like more hacking, is on the way.
A new thread for hacking and mods would be nice :)

Would be great if a hacking thread or subforum was available. For my smartphone/tablet/smartwatch I get my hacking information at XDA, but where do we have to go for toyota car hacks? :)
I'm a little affraid for sharing my hacks.

Since you have to have knowledge of electronics, microprocessors and the wiring of the car.
When you make mistakes you can "fry" the electronics of your car.

When sending wrong information on the can bus the car can behave unexpectedly and could cause injuries or worse.

So you really need to know what you are doing.

I understand. It's one thing when you accidentally brick your smartphone but another when you do the same to your car.
Still, I think trying to get information on these hacks and trying to understand them is always nice. But caution in trying to apply them is highly recommended.
I'm not talking about microprocessors. Too tricky for me.
Software hacking would be nice to add futures to our cars. Like screen mirroring mentioned in another thread, new applications that are not available worldwide, techstream etc.

@Flood
Been at XDA since 2003. Still an everyday check for mods to my Mi MIx ;-)
Wow I am so glad sometimes I am old and don't get all this, I would end up with a total dead donkey lol
