Does anyone know how to cancel route guidance when into your journey and you no longer need it?

Page 186 in my manual is Audio/iPod system. Page 195 starts navigation menu screen but does not show how to cancel route guidance.

Press the stop guidance button on the touchscreen - the red one

If all else fails then pull hammer from glove box and hit screen repeatedly until guidence stops.

Please remember for safety reasons only apply this method when car is stationary and hand brake is applied

Could you confirm for me where in the glove box the hammer is located?!!
