Does anyone know if there should be an audible sound when reversing to indicate getting close to something behind, that work in conjunction with the reverse camera.

Only had the car since Friday so still getting to know it and the manual is a bit of a minefield  !

I would have thought with all the sensors and sounds it has for different things it may have this too but not sure.

Mine does. It goes nuts as soon as anything comes within sensor range. Also shows you a distance indicator in the driver display screen on the dash including which direction objects are. Do you have the sensors switched on?

I think, if your package comes with the parking sensors, then the beeping is from them. I don't believe camera has also some sensors.

P. S. C-HR is one of the best and easy to understand manuals I've read.

They should be on as standard. The excel has front and rear sensors as standard so if they are not working it is almost 100% that they are not switched on.

Thank you.

I think I know what I need to look at now tomorrow!

I've sorted things like iPod playing and email messages off so far! So I need to start getting priorities right now!

In my country, rear parking sensors wasn't standard option, so first check if you have rear parking sensors and then if you have enable them. The "beep sound" while reversing is from rear parking sensors.

For UK EXCEL trim front and rear sensors are standard so in this instance they will either not be switched on or faulty. Hopefully the former not the latter!

Update - they weren't turned on. They're on now :D .
Awesome. I can confirm the pedestrian collection works. But ran into road in front of me today and car braked to a full stop. Was amazing and have me a heart work out at the same time. Phew 😊
