So, just got off the phone with my dealer who said that they are stopping delivering all cars that are in the UK at the port right now as they are "issung a recall based on a few defective windscreens". They mentioned not all are affected and it's only a batch of windscreens. The way the car drives, the windscreens are able to handle the pressure fine, just a handful of them

My car has been delayed by at least a few days whilst it's checked. If they have to replace the windscreen it'll be a few days if they have the screen in stock, otherwise at least a week (maybe 2) if it's later.

Yep I gave my dealer service dept (who apparently wasn't aware of he windscreen issue as of 17th May) the link to that particular thread.

Sad that a public forum has to educate a multinational company...but it wouldn't be the first time.....or the last :(

It would be good if they were to let us know which chassis numbers have possibly defective windscreens

New recall has been issued as some are affected with some wiring chafing look for the latest news The carmaker is expected to recall around 1.3million hybrid cars due to a wiring issue that could potentially cause a fire.

It is an issue that is linked to a wire harness that connects to the hybrid power control unit.

Thanks, checked last night and mine is due a recall.
As it's going on for a service on Monday I called my dealer to see if it could be done at the same time. They said they were unaware of the recall as Toyota hadn't notified them. They said I should wait for the recall letter from the DVLA by which time they should know what's going on!

Car went in for a service today and I mentioned the recall. They checked and said that if the wiring needed replacing it would have to come in again. As it turns out the check was carried out and no parts needed replacing, no further action required.
