There are plenty of LED rear bumper products on eBay/amazon that work as a brake light but I found a set I really like because it has an embedded reverse white light as well https://item.rakuten.co.jp/auc-yell/car-ref-lu2/

The problem with all these JDM parts is that you get the instructions in Japanese or a dodgy automated English translation. I will have to figure out the wiring myself. Has anyone installed a set before? Is the electrical work to connect them straightforward?

Agreed about the waterproof part.
I guess I will wait until a similar product comes out which is waterproof.

According to the translated description, these should be waterproof.
A bit expensive though but i guess you get what you pay for

Yes, you get what you pay for. Thats sort of golden rule for ´china products´.
If you take some time to make them more waterproof and ventilation they probably last longer.

Note these kind of products are developped fast.. they work, but are not fully tested and debugged.
