Hey guys. My C-HR is due to arrive but I was curious because I've never had a car before with both parking sensors and automated emergency braking. Is there any sort of interaction between the parking sensors and the auto braking system? If you get too close to an obstacle does it only warn you or does it also apply the brakes when the car gets too close? Same question for the parking assistant, if anyone knows. Thanks!

If I understand correctly, emergency braking works only with radar. Parking sensors just warns you - you have to brake yourself. And SIPA just tells you when to switch gears and move or stop.

The sensitivity of precollision system could be set on the info display. Mine was set to short and did not got warning when approached hardly braking vehicle in front. I changed sensitivity to medium and now am getting more adequate warnings. Automatic brake is applied if driver does not take action on the warning, did not happened to me yet (1200km and 10 days ownership).

Thanks for the answers, but I may have asked the question in a weird way. What I meant was does the automated braking system work with the parking sensors, as in while you're parking does it hit the brake if you get too close to the next car for instance? I know for regular driving it uses a radar behind the badge and a camera/sensor in the windshield to detect cars in the front.

Read the section in the manual but I haven't seen anything about them being linked.
