Nanoe ion generator option

In the manual its mentions an ion generator *if equipped. Did anyone get it or is it included as standard.

I ask because my rav4 kept making an ozone smell like a fridge right after a buzzing in the fan system. This indicates a generator is fitted and I cant turn it off. It made me feel sick and induced headaches.

Picking mine up Wednesday so im hoping it doesn't have one or im gonna dig it out.

Could you tell what page in EN manual it's mentioned? Or are you talking about Nanoe humidifier? If so, then it can be turned off by turning off the passenger side air vent. This ozone like smell, I believe, is caused by any air conditioning system which is not sealed properly. Might be wrong about the latter.
dont think its on the Dynamic, Excel only i believe, Humidifying NanoeTM air purifier
Oh, I forgot to mention. At least in Lithuania it comes only with the Luxury packages
In Finland that thing is with Premium-model only! I have tried to find some information of it but feels like nobody knows anything. I don`t feel or smell it when driving, the logo is shown only in the panel? What this is?

Ok heres what i think I've learnt so far.

The system on previous models does not shut down if you close the vent as such. But it limits the air flow over the conductor.

I also suspected a leaky air con system until I noticed the smell happened the instant I heard a buzz noise and the internal air selector changes slightly for a few moments. It sounds like you upped the fan speed for 30 seconds. This is the ion generator in action.

I've read its bad news for sensitive souls like me and is known to aggitate people with asthma at immensly small concentrations. Like 00.1ppm or something.

I found other people who also had to sell the car because of it or not use the fans. I had the ac off and it still works.

I also had a leaky exhaust so this may well have been part of my problem. But there's no mistaking ozone as I have a crazy sensitive nose.

PS 99.9 percent of people will probably be fine with the system. Im not saying its bad for everyone just wanted to find out some info as Toyota never answered emails about it for decades.
