Good evening C-HRians,

May I ask your advice please? I am definitely keeping my c-hr for a very long time. Do you think it will be worth having the mud flaps, front and rear, installed? I mean I was able to get the accent pack and the lower boot liner, but never really came to my mind about the mud flaps until today. Is it worth having mud flaps if you are keeping the car say for the next 5 years or more? Please feel free to post, my friends.

Thank you!

Hello all,

I bought the mud flaps from toyota ebay store. Called in toyota and they'll charge me £72 just to fit it. I don't know how to install it and don't have the tools. I'm just worried that if i go to another garage and something happened, toyota might turned around and say the warranty is void because i chose a different garage to install the flaps. Any advice please?

Ans - are you there matey?

I have fitted all my chrome trim and mudflaps and I can't see how it would affect the warranty as it's not really a serviceable part but I wouldn't expect Toyota to change them if they broke

I am not confident doing it myself, but thanks for the info. I appreciate it. I guess i just have to find a cheaper place to have the flaps fitted. Good night my friends!

As hollyhead asked what is the pirpose of testing max speed of C-HR, may i ask what is the purpose of the mud flaps?
Dealer fitted small plastic things in front of the front tyres and behind of rear tyres and i did not liked. Several times they touched the ground off road or in pot holes. I am sure they were not on my car when dealer called me to see it after arrival and before pickup. Dealer promised to remove but i do not have time.

These small plastic things in the front are on every C-HR and can not be removed IMHO. I also can't understand the purpose of these and also nearly ripped them off while driving backwards

Maybe we are talking about different things then. I'm talking about the part, which is seen in every single C-HR picture on the web (if the angle is right) and it seems like it's a part of a wheel arch or maybe a bumper.

See how it ends in some diagonal shape?

Karmalakas, yes i am talking about same thing. The plastic in front of the red dot of this tyre. It is removable.

First time that it touch the ground I start watching other cars if they have the same. Looks like most of crossovers have it.
I don't know why they are there, as they make my CHR more "slide over" than crossover.

they are to cut drag about one-third of the total drag is caused by undercar flows, with most of that from the front wheels. It's for this reason that it's now common for manufacturers to place small, rectangular deflectors ahead of the front wheels

Hello my friends,

I thought I'd share what's going on with my C-HR. I will have a couple of things to be done tomorrow. First, Toyota will fit the mud flaps, both the front and back, then they will attach the side steps I ordered from them. The boot liner I ordered from Toyota Ebay also arrived today so it is all good. I will post some photos here once the accessories are fitted. That's all for now! Keep safe my friends.

Regards,

Dear friends,

I must say I was a bit disappointed today when I collected my C-HR from Toyota this evening. Since I collected the car outside office hours (nearly 6pm), the receptionist handed me the key and I got to pay for the mud flaps and the side steps. However, they reduced the charge for the reason that Toyota cannot fit the front mud flaps because of the side steps. Now I find this puzzling because I don't believe it. The receptionist only relayed the message to me as the technician and the service advisor already left.

Is it true that if you have the side steps fitted, you cannot have the front mud flaps fitted? Only the rear mud flaps was fitted because of the side steps. Is this true? Can you please confirm this officially because if that comes from Toyota, then probably it is true. Just need second opinion please.

Thank you,

Penyen
