I am starting a new topic on this as the other one has drifted off subject now.

I am tryingbto update to 6.9.0.
I have previousky updated to 6.8.2 and am doing the same things for 6.9.0 but it is failing.

I have my system correctly registered (I checked the device id) and I selected the map ipdate 6.9.0H from the estore. Put it in my basket and checked out. It correctly appears in my list of purchses as map update 6.9.0H.
Then when I download it I get a file called 6.9.0WH. (Note the "W").
I expanded this and copied to USB stick ( editing in the activation code).
I put it in the car and it recognises it as an upgrade but then gives an error:
Database upgade of version 6.9.0WH has failed.
Update not valid for this device.

I have a suspician that 6.9.0H and 6.9.0WH are not the same thing.
But anyone got any ideas?
Did you get a file called 6.9.0H when you downloaded?

Yes my last one added the H also and worked correctly. I will attempt the update after work this evening.
Thx. Just for clarity my previous version (that worked) had the"H" but not the "W".

Just to tidy up this theme. I did eventually get it to work (with 6.9.0WH). I re-downloaded it, unpacked it with a different zip program and used a new USB stick. Took hours but worked first time. I suspect the USB stick was the cause if the corruption.

I'm not convinced the maps are that up to date. Near to me is a road where the limit was reduced from 40mph to 30mph about 20 months ago and the sat nav is still showing it at 40mph. The display on the dash shows it at 30mph

Most of the time mapmakers depend on local authority
or Highway agent to inform them when speed limits are changed.
For that reason, the CHR has the
Road Sign Assist (RSA)
so that you know what is the right speed limit.
