Really love the look of the car, and hoping to buy one pretty soon.

Hoping to get to a dealer and have a test drive, one day next week.

Been playing about with the configurator, and think i've opted for

Metal Stream Dynamic 1.2 Manual (FWD) with leather interior.

Is there any advice you can give me, about dealing with the dealers, are they allowed to give any discounts or add some accessories FOC.

This will probably be a cash sale.

Any advice gratefully recieved.

as you are paying cash try your luck with as many extras as you can, lots of little add on bits that you could ask the dealer to add on , mats are free so dont get caught out by them as a freebee , boot mat is handy and so is a spare wheel plus bits as for dicounts they dont seem to be offering any across the board so just try your luck

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a go. See what I can get.

And try and play 1 dealership off against the other.

Will keep you posted, of my progress.

I got €1500 off mine in Cyprus and managed to get the front and rear underrun, chrome fog lights surrounds, chrome boot protector and boot liner all for free.
I was a cash buyer as well.

From my point of view Toyota maps are awful. If they ask you for extra money don't pay them. Use your mobile instead.
Difficult to use. Tried twice to insert destination and gave up. I don't have voice command even if I promished to. Traffic is also useless here. I don't know if it works well over there.
It's the only think I hate on my car,

Don't go for leather, old fashioned now in cars and awful material to make seats with. Cloth is so much better. Hence in UK top spec comes with cloth seats.

I don't think you will get anything off at any UK dealer I tried 4 within a 150 mile radius and the only benefit was getting the value of my part ex up a bit. My local dealer advised they have been given an annual allocation of 116 units from Toyota for the year and when they have all been sold then there will be a waiting list . They are at pain of death if Toyota find out they have discounted a vehicle. That is why you will get zero discount notifications back from Carwow and drivethedeal.com. Also the 5.9% APR deal PCP offer is shocking compared to all the Finance offers on the other vehicles in the Toyota range. Give it another year and the finance offers will be much better and the discounts will be easy to obtain.

Obviously another example of rip off Britiain. I expect the situation is different abroad as you can see by the responses of those outside the UK.

If you mean full leather then possibly but not part leather which is what the Excel comes with in the UK.
Part leather is extremely popular across most manufacturers atm. Do all the other manufacturers have cloth seats in their top of the range models?

Part leather seats in my opinion are better which leads on to my next point.
Seats are a VERY personal point of view so to say "Cloth is so much better" is a personal choice and definitely not one held by all. I also don't think that has anything to do with why Toyota chose to put cloth into the high end model but more about what "extra" packs can be added.
At the cost of the top model I think people tend to be a little more choosy over what they want to add. Unless you are Ans and loaded ;)
One of the reasons I didn't go for the Dynamic was because of the cost and the fact I would have to spend more to get the seats I would have wanted.

I would try and sit in both before making a decision about seats. Some people prefer the cloth variant because they are softer.
Some prefer the excel because of their firmness. Get your bum in a few before deciding :)

Can't agree with you on that one mate, I think leather adds a touch of class. And they are alot easier to look after and clean. And I think they put cloth in the top of the range car, so they can charge you a £1000 for the upgrade.

Were you able to get any extras thrown in at all ?? Surely that can't be classed as a discount ??

i wish   , at the moment in this hot weather the fabric is nice ,not so nice in the merc with its full leather as you cant sit in it in shorts,
definitely take a couple of different spec cars out as they are a completely different seat in my opinion , as for the under run have a look in the members gallery :D

:?: Am i thinking right ?? :?:

If i go for an EXCEL-------------- it will come with partial leather with option of full leather. Also is the top of the dash and door inserts brown ??

where as if i go for DYNAMIC-------it will come with cloth with the option of full leather. Also is the top of dash and door inserts blueish ??

I want all the bells and whistles that the Dynamic provides, so really just a choice now between cloth and leather

I was thinking about the leather option too. I choose not to take it from Toyota.

For same price a upholstery company can do it too and i have much more choice in color, stitching and quality of used leather.
Also the armrest and doorcards can be done.

That sounds like a good idea, black leather with blue inserts to match the door cards, trim etc.
