So far my CHR has these faults.....

Collision warning going off randomly ....especially when in traffic....dealer looked at it on day 1...now it goes off randomly
Wash wipe .........not working on both the front and rear screens..washers work but wipe isn't...
Auto headlights - go to main beam when they feel like it and not at all if you drive in lanes....
Interior Alarm sensor - Alarm goes off even when you have disabled it...
Interior display lighting goes from Bright to Dim randomly....

I have only had it 3 days ...but its going back to the dealer first thing on Monday.....

NOT HAPPY :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Oh dear maybe you got a Friday afternoon car.
I had the wash wipe issue once on tne front but it was ok yesterday.
Sorry to tell you but thats how my wash wipe fault started...worked then didn't...today it has not worked at all...at least not working at all is easier to find...maybe its linked to the other faults...Seems to be worse when it rains with all the faults....

I love the car, but this is taking the edge off the fun...I have spoken to the dealer who has arranged for me to get it looked at ASAP...

Just wondered if anyone else had similar issues..
I've had mine for 4 days and on my drive back from London:

1) Had the precollision fault which says 'return to toyota' and those yellow warnings burning holes in your retina for 140 miles!
2) Twice pulled back to wash/wipe but it just sprayed fluid and no wiper movement...grrr

Also it takes some getting used to when the wiper switching on/speed adjustment is the opposite direction of travel to any other car I've driven, but then this is my first japanese vehicle.

So Island I think my car and yours may have been made on the same Friday afternoon!
Sorry to hear you too have issues...been out this morning in the CHR and the Pre-collition fault seems better as it only came up when it first starts and is on my drive without another vehicle infront ...

Will update you on the wipers post dealer visit tomorrow..
Not sure if I already posted this screen from Techstream, but on the second week my C-HR already had 14 error codes registered:
Colorfulness Rectangle Slope Font Line

Still, they were linked to each other and mostly due to cold weather and ice getting inside the radar box behind the front badge.

I think that I have a similar issue as the Collision warning problems only seem to occur when its raining or when I start off after rain - or living as I do next to the sea, sea mist.. I will highlight this to the dealer tomorrow as a possible cause to some of the issues...but I guess they will be doing a full diagnostic on my car..
I have just driven mine back from Cornwall it's now done 190 miles. I had the previous collision system malfunction warning come on when I stopped and started the car again it cleared. Obviously there is something wrong with it with so many of us getting the same issue
Would I be correct in assuming that we've all had the problems either during or immediately after rain?

Maybe worthwhile checking some of the Prius sites to see if they have similar issues, also just noticed a pre-collision thread on here:

My wiper problem did not happen in/immediately after rain. The windscreen got dirty from fine spray and the sun came out to show it up.
I did a little test on my wipers today and found that every time I gave the washers a quick squirt then I got no wiper motion. But if I held the washer on for a second or two the wipers came on every time. (ie hold the sprayer on until the wipers start)

For removing ice thats not a bad thing to give them a good coat before your wipers start.
I wish my car did that! It's wiped off my nice washer solution before it has had a chance to work :)
Thanks for this...will give it a try later...

The problem is at a M'way speed of 70mph a 'good squirt' obscures your vision to the point that it's hazardous, so it would be preferable that it works on small squirts too :)
I have also noticed that you have to hold the lever, but it is about a half to 3/4 of a second.

Also if you release the lever after the whiper just started, it will move about an inch and then stops.

Something else... If the whipers are whiping and you turn off the car... They won't return to neutral. Just a pitty.
Well, I had just a couple old BMWs before (still driving one till I get C-HR) and wipers on both behaved exactly the same. At least for me that won't be an issue :)
No, my CHR is also having weird technical issues. Will be my second time taking it back to the dealer in less than a month. Will be asking for a swap. Too early to be having issues.
Due to all embarrassing technical and design faults, it seems that Toyota C-HR is not really the brightest kid on the block :? :(

(Or perhaps owing a C-HR is no "Turkish delight" but some kind of Turkish nightmare: "Midnight Express")
Just for the record the burning smell in mine was the ecu slowly frying itself. I have a new one now and it seems ok so far. This car is highly likely to get gremlins with all those tiny wires etc.
