Hi,

Looking through the UK model specification does anyone know what this is, what difference it makes, where is it situated, does it need changing or outside service maintenance and why it's only on the mid spec Excel and not the Dynamic ? :?

I have it, it does not need refilling. It is just an air ionizer.

I don't experience any odors or so. If you have it and you don't like it, it can be turned off via techstream (at the dealer).

i have it on my Excel but like one of the other post mine did smell funny too.

i tried the air freshener sticks in the air vents, made no difference, tried febreze it made a slight difference, so happy for now.

i have been recommended by my local auto parts shop to try a fragrance bomb, you set the Ac on recirculation and let the bomb off and leave the car running for 10 mins with doors and windows shut, then turn the car off and ventilate for 15 mins.

Hope this helps.

Your dealer can turn the function off with techstream.

This seems a much easier solution. However I still doubt if the smell is from the Ionizer.

ok, how do i know if mine is equipped with this technology? Here's what it says on page 574:

574 6-1. Using the air conditioning system and defogger
C-HR_OM_Europe_OM10528E
■nanoe™*1 (if equipped)
The air conditioning system adopts nanoe™ technology. This helps to fill the
cabin with refreshing air by emitting slightly acidic nanoe™ coated with water
particles through the passenger's side vent*2.
●When the fan is turned on, nanoe™ system is activated.
●When the fan is operated in the following conditions, system performance
will be maximized. If the following conditions are not met, nanoe™ may not
operate at full capacity.
• The upper body, the upper body and feet or the feet air outlets are being
used. (P. 561)
• The passenger's side vent is open.
●When nanoe™ is generated, a small amount of ozone is emitted and may
be faintly smelled in some situations. However, this is approximately the
same as the amount that already exists in nature, such as in forests, and it
has no affect on the human body.
●A slight noise may be heard during operation. This is not a malfunction.
*1: nanoe™ and the nanoe™ mark are trademarks of Panasonic Corporation.
*2: According to temperature and humidity conditions, fan speed and direction
of the air flow, nanoe™ may not operate at full capacity.

How do you know if you have this. I normally run with the ac on and system in auto. I just change the temp setting.
