How straight is your reversing camera image

9440 Views 12 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  Eb39
I've noticed if I line up the horizontal line in my reversing camera straight on my garage door the car is actually quite a bit off straight. Anyone else seeing this?

I know the camera is off centre so expect a bit of misalignment but this seems quite a bit. I've mentally compensated for it when reversing but as the car is in the dealers anyway Thursday wondered if I should mention it.

i would ,dead centre if i line it up on the straight lines of a parking bay and back in into it
Pretty straight for me too reversing into spaces
Thanks I will mention it and see what they say
Mines slightly off too. I reverse onto driveway using the camera and looks dead straight with the edge of my grass. get out and I'm 2ft away at the back compared to front.
Thought it was just me.

This is what I see If I reversed straight in I would hit the garage wall.

Will see what the dealer says tomorrow - they seemed to think they could adjust it.

Mine's straight but the distance behind the red line is ridiculous! My husband's car (Kia) shows a real distance. I get out of mine and look like I can't park ;) !
OK at the dealers and mine can't be adjusted any further. One thing to note the vertical lines are spot on but there is distortion on the horizontal line. Apparently this is down to the camera being offset. It could be one way or the other but it appears Toyota chose to use the verticals. Not end of the world I can live with it.

To illustrate vertical lines straight with parking space. Car is perfectly straight in space.

However the horizontal line is not straight with back of space which is definitely at 90 degree to space

Bottom line vertical line for alignment horizontal lin e s for distance. Apparently the red line is positioned to allow you to stand behind the car and open the boot. Which means it can be way forward in the space. I find the silver boot protector strip works well to line up on the actual space.

Sorry for the OT but what about the 2 vertical side lines? Are they large as the car with wing mirrors opened?
Mine seems slightly wider and offset a bit so the driver door has more space. I guess it might depend how wide your mirrors are set,.
I have spoken to my Dealership about this issue who agree the C-HR camera is faulty and they escalated it to Toyota UK. Apparently all C-HR cameras are the same, but Toyota claim I am the only customer in the whole of the UK to make a complaint about the camera and so they will not forward the complaint to their technical team. They have said if they receive more customer complaints they will escalate it. They advised me to put the following email address on this forum and ask customers who are not happy with their cameras to send an email and they will escalate the problem. [email protected]
