How much fuel in a UK supplied vehicle?

10001 Views 19 Replies 14 Participants Last post by  Milk float
My dealer called today and asked me if I wanted him to put in £10 of fuel before I collected on Wednesday....I would pay them £10 on Wed morn.

I do appreciate that 'margins are tight' but no fuel?

Last new car was back in 2007 and that came with half a tank

Mine is coming with a full tank on Wednesday at 10 am................Yippee
just over quarter of a tank
I have been told that I will get a full tank on Wednesday at 09:30
So we've nothing, two full tanks and one quarter tank.

Doesn't seem that consistent? :(
I am getting a full tank but that's because I got it as part of the negotiations... No idea what is normal...
I suppose I can't complain as got my metallic paint free and a set of mats, so guess they're being justifiably stingy.

Ans, as the other person with least fuel what extras did you get free out of your dealer?
free mats, but apparently they come as standard(salesman's words).nothing really as they knew i wanted one as i first showed an interest in the car last september so they knew they had me
Got a quarter tank

As of late 2016 all newly manufactured cars come with car mats as standard (industry agreed apparently). So it all boils down to when your car was actually made and how close to the end of the year it was.

My sales guy ordered some in just in case but told me I only need to buy them if it doesn't have any :)
I negotiated a full tank but I was told that the norm was that they would put in £15 of fuel and put £15 on the invoice! Not as bad as a car I ordered on the internet and was delivered to my home. It ran out of fuel getting it off the transporter! The delievry driver had to take me round to the garage where we bought a petrol can and filled it.

I'm getting 1/4 of a tank here in Cyprus. Tried get a full tank after getting £1000 of extras thrown in. Gotta try your luck

Sheesh that's bad!
I am getting a full tank with mine. All part of the negotiations. I personally think that should be standard. We are paying enough for the car to start with!
They put £25 in ours.

I would rather they put petrol in mine
It didn't cross my mind to ask the dealer about fuel as part of the negotiations. The fuel warning light came on after 2 miles of my journey home !!
I hadn't negotiated any extras but had managed to negotiate a good deal on my trade-in.
It still seemed a bit tight of them though and soured what had otherwise been a good buying experience...... all for the sake of £10-20.
I said to my dealer I expect a full tank of fuel and hay presto a full tank :)
