Hi everybody, I have been lurking around this forum for sometime so thought It was time I joined. Since Christmas my Skoda Superb 2.5tdi had developed a number of faults and with over 200,000 miles on the clock it was time to move on. I took delivery of my 1.8 hybrid excel in dacuma grey in March (excel has a much superior interior in my opinion) and have have to say I am really pleased with the car. Like everybody really taken with the looks and the level of kit. Like others I turn 50 this year and it was the only car my wife and I both liked! I am really impressed with the ride and comfort and the overall driving experience. I drive from north Manchester to the Lakes everyday (64 miles each way) it's a mix of urban roads 5 miles country roads 20 miles and a run of 40 miles up the M6. Using the mpg reading from the car I manage between 65-69mpg for every journey. and getting towards 500 miles from every tank. That's within 10% of the official combined figure. Very pleased with that mpg and 20 more than I got from the Skoda.

Hi and welcome! Glad you are liking the car, I have the same colour so approve of your choice :)

I'm also really impressed with the fuel economy, coming from a pretty good diesel, the hybrid has been great, easily getting 55-65 MPG on my travels.

And that's mostly in Sports mode ;)
