Heated Steering Wheel

To anyone who has the Excel model or Orange Edition with Heated Steering Wheel... could you answer me a question please!

Does it heat up all the way round?

The reason I ask is I have just got a new Excel model, and tried the heated steering wheel at the weekend - but found that it only heated to the joins on the steering wheel at 10 to 2 and 10 past 2 where the grips end. I find this odd, as an old car heated all the way round, as does my partner's Fiesta.

If anyone could test and let me know, that would be helpful as I will go to my dealer if it should heat all the way round.

Mine heats up only where you hold it, which is probably right.

This is where the driving schools say your hands should be when driving 10 to 2 so perhaps this is why its this way.

In the past it was like that. Now a quarter to three is better because of the airbag.

Hopefully you're hands aren't at 12 or 6 for too long to get cold. I notice it on mine on cold morning coming out of the garage. Warm, cold, warm, cold, cold warm warm as I reverse out of my spot. Love it though. Would never buy a car with out it.

Its the only piece of equipment I would have liked Toyota UK to offer on the GR Sport spec.

The Excel spec I originally test drove had it.

I hardly ever hold the steering wheel at 10-2, mainly at 8-4, so I tend not to bother with the heated wheel.
