Hi Guys,
Just bought new CHr and itbis 2nd week and I hear a very loud groining sound from the wheels/brakes when using ghe break pedal from still position.
For example: The car is parked on a slope and when going from P to R in the gearsa and releasing the brake pedal this lod groining sound occurs.

Anyone aware of the reason?

Thank you in advance

Regards

Nothing to worry about. It's the same when you slowly slide your finger on the clean apple skin while pushing hard. Just a friction. Try braking more gently or releasing the brakes more quickly, so the car wouldn't start moving very very slowly :) With mileage it becomes less noticeable, but still happens from time to time.

Its a common issue with hybrids. As the brake pads get used less due to regenerative braking they tend to bind a little when you are manoevering at slow speeds. It gets less and comes and goes according to how much you use the brakes, but does not go away completely.

Mine was embarassingly loud. It looks like the tyres may have been mounted with oil plus they used tyre shine. It got all over my brakes. I sprayed them all with brake cleaner and it halved the judder. Still feels awful and one of the reasons Im rejecting my car. 3000 miles and its not going but the stench has stopped.

Have toyota CHR cult 1.8 hybride now for 2 weeks. After about 400 km the sound started when using the brakes softly and releasing. My girlfriend even hears the sound up to the second floor apartment. The car drives nice and have not mutch to complain but for a car from this price i expect better brakes then this. If this is a common problem then why bring the car on the market like this ?
Fix this problem first ! I like the car very mutch for driving but when i am in the city and need to slow drive and brake and people start looking because the brakes make a lot of noise is not good advertising for toyota. And to be honest if they cant fix this problem i will never by or lease a toyota again.I expect more from toyota and expect this problem will be fixed for this car's price....

Mine improves 50 percent if i jetwash the brakes on the wheel cleaner setting. I think its acidic. Check for oil on your rims also. Might just be contamination from the incorrect use of oil to mount tyres not paste as usual.

Yes its embarrassing and now the car wont stop smoothly unless you knock it into neutral first

Guys I'm a brake specialist that's your pads gripping the disc surface does mean you're brakes are working . on hybrid cars the brakes are not used the same as standard cars ask non hybrid chr owners .Its stays longer as you're pads don't bed in as fast

Own toyota chr (3) months old.I have noticed a momentary/instantaneous sound LIKE A BIT, loud enough to hear it clearly, that didn't exist before. It happen during deceleration of the car with light breaking , almost every time exactly the moment before the car stop completely. The sound come from the back of the car (propably from the brakes, i don't know for sure).

I think same description as your problem Ans. Does this sound continue to exist for you? Did you take it to Toyota technician for check?
