GPF issues in hybrids?

Thanks to everyone to replied to my earlier query this week re reversing cameras on the CHR. I’m still doing my homework before making the final decision on the car, and I wondered if anyone has any comments on GPF issues in the self charging hybrid.

After driving diesel cars for many a long year and having no problems whatsoever with diesel particulate filters, I changed to a petrol car a couple of years ago. Almost immediately, the petrol car threw up a petrol particulate blockage; and it has done so three times since. The view of the dealership is that I’m just doing too many fairly short journeys (my driving style has not changed since my diesel days).

So my question is whether self charging hybrids are likely to have PPF issues. And I’m hoping that the answer is a no! I have been looking at a Peugeot mild hybrid car and the reports of it seem to suggest that, in PPF terms, it might be not much better than my current petrol car.

Many thanks again for any intelligence you might be able to share.

Thanks @charliepie. I was completely unaware of GPF issues, too, until I bought my current car (a Hyundai), and not a single person I know who drives a standard petrol car of any make seems to have the problem I do. From all of the information available online, it looks like Hyundai have a problem in this respect. Unfortunately, I only found out about it after I had bought the car! So, I am being hypervigilant in my homework re. the next car!

From what I've read!!

Due to its design and the faster heating of petrol engines, GPF wears very little. At the same time, the risk of clogging is really minimal, which allows GPF manufacturers to advertise a very long service life, much longer than the best diesel car particulate filters.

I only do mainly short journeys, have only done 8000 miles in two and a half years, no gpf issues, only issue was 12v battery which I replaced, my son has a Hyundai Tucson, it keeps flashing gpf failure on dash😬
