Hi,

Has anyone tinted their front windows in the UK at all?

I'm picking up my Toyota Hybrid Dynamic soon and was considering tinting the front windows up to the legal limit but not sure if it would look nice or not.

Anyone done it yet and able to kindly post a picture?

Thanks,
A- Dawg

I'm also thinking of doing this to the front windows

Think it might look a bit naff with just the dark rear privacy glass

I think here in oz - Darkest legal = same darkness as rear window

In any case - i have researched and know where I am going to get it done

Wouldn't be much help to you though :)

2 more weeks !

Hi southpatt,

Yes I agree it might look a little weird without fully tinting the car, hoping Toyota can do it for me if I ask nicely... :D

What is the legal limit of tinting in UK?
Here in Holland it is upto 50%. Behind B-pillar no limit.

No one asked - but here's The Rules for Australia

The Laws:

Each state in Australia requires a minimum visual light transmission or VLT limit of 35% (Excluding the front windscreen, which can only have a visor strip on the top of the windscreen). This means 35% of the visible light passes through the tinted glass and the rest is blocked.

The only exceptions are NT, which allows a minimum VLT of 15% for windows behind the driver and WA, which allows 20% VLT on all windows behind the driver. Please note trucks, commercials vehicles and buses have different tinting laws in most states and territories.
