Hi,

Just to let anyone know who is interested....

When my windscreen cracked (I'm on my 3rd one btw!) I complained to Toyota by messaging them through Facebook.

As a result they offered me a free service OR £100 of shopping vouchers.

This is frankly an appauling offer considering with a 3rd windscreen being fitted my car has probably devalued by at least £1k (according to a car expert friend of mine). However, that's what I ended up with. Suggest anyone who had windscreen problems do the same and at least get something out of it.

Or if anyone has managed to obtain anything better than that let us all know and we can fight for more / begin legal proceedings.

Thanks,
A-Dawg

why would it devalue your car ? unless you go round tell everyone you are going to sell the car too how will they know , bull plop in my opinion , you have already lost about £2000 just by buying it and driving it away.
but good luck with whatever you do.

Agree with Ans, no additional devaluation whatsoever.

Or perhaps things happen differently in Amazingstoke? :?:

Why does anyone need compensation? What legal action are you planning.

It was/is a fault - these things happen, especially with a new model, get over it and get on with your life.

(p.s. - there are about 600 people in London who would gladly have a cracked windscreen as the biggest problem in their life at the moment!!)

Hmmm, everybody has the right to complain, even if other people are having a harder time....

I don't seek any compensation myself, just want my car fixed as it should without going to the local garage all the time.

I think anyone who was has had 3 different windscreens, since they bought their C-HR, have the right to get a little anoyed by it. So I can really understand this.

Much appreciated, I'll definitely be sending them a message. I'm pretty fed up with all the lies they've been spouting!

You would be better ringing customer relations using the number I posted earlier.
You are much more likely to get a good response with a verbal complaint than a written one.
If you get no where with that then you can write a letter higher up the food chain to the Chief Exec.
Things will soon get noticed and dealt with at that point.

Got to agree with the chaps above, no reason at all for the car to de-value just because you've had the windscreen replaced.

You could just be one of those really unlucky people, who's car is hit by a stone, three times in the cars life!

Wow, someone's a grumpy old cunt! :D
Just time off work is money lost. Its not like they offer to pick the car up is it?

Just two hours of a solicitors time would be a substantial loss to someone.

I just read about the rights to return new cars so maybe people can think about trying that before taking on a large companys solicitors.

If a fault arrises in 30 days you can get a full refund.

If a fault that arrises in the first 6 months isnt rectified the first time then you can return it. They will try to deduct money for the miles covered etc.

3 windscreens are not acceptable - I think compensation in the manner offered is fair

inconvenience and time off road - things happen - yes - but they shouldn't on this manner so soon
