Double beep

24908 Views 10 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  MerlyWerly
I keep getting a double beep every now and again and I have not worked out what it is. It is louder than the lane departure beep and as far as I can see it is not accompanied by any indicator light or screen. The only clue I have is that I have noticed it happens at roughly the same place as I pass one particular junction. (but there is no speed camera near by).
Any ideas?

Ps I noticed it misread a road sign today telling me the speed limit is 80mph on a local road with 20mph limit!

I had the same as well with mine after I got it and noticed it was the warning for a speed camera. I suspect that maybe there used to be a camera at that junction a while ago that is not there anymore? Not sure about the radar issue, may be worth contacting Toyota on that
When your car is going faster than the speed limit and you are approaching a speed camera, it beeps. It gets the camera data online, so you should be connected to the internet.
Hi Guys, collected my C-HR yesterday and loving it... got the Dynamic Hybrid. The Touch 2 with Go takes some getting used to... I'm not sure how to get a Bleep when approaching a speed camera, I can see them on the display with the approach countdown, but no audible warning. All other system noises seem ok, satnav turn by turn and phone calls etc....

Anyone help?

Dave
Hi,
thanks for your halpful replies. Got to the bottom of it tonight. I switched the sat nav on and drove the same route again. Sure enough it double-beeped at the normal place but this time it popped up telling me there is a speed camera 500 yds ahead! (which is some 300 yds after I turn off). Note that I was not exceeding the limit at that point so I don't think the warning only comes up if you are going too fast.
I understand (though not yet sure) that if you turn of showing the speed cameras in map settings then it stops beeping too.

I think you can turn the camera bleep on and off in your settings. Will have a look today and revert
Had a look and doesn't seem you can do it, even muting the turn by turn still keeps the beeps on I think
I have found out how to switch it off.
Go into settings and select map settings.
Scroll down and untick the option to show safety cameras.

Then the cameras dint show on the map AND the beep goes. I dont think you can have ine without the other.

when I say the beep goes I mean that the beep does not sound any more.
