Im from portugal, and altough the versions are different there are specifications equal to all cars.

Does the CHR have an alarm system?

I was talking to someone here in portugal and he said he paid 300 euros for the alarm system, and i was like "doesn't it come standard?"

I guess for an expensive car like this i just assumed! Does any1 have any information on this?

In Lithuania it does. If you're taking it on a lease, it must have, because no company would insure a car without an alarm system. And leased cars must be insured. Even if you're paying all the price, it does come with an alarm.

I called my insurance for info.. dont really need a alarm system because newprice is below 75K.

Besides that, new rules say that a alarm system may not be activated/deactivated anymore by the genuine car remote/keyfob.. it have to be seperate communication system.

For theft i have more trust in a Bearlock system that mechanical locks the gearbox.
Bearlock is not available for C-HR yet but will come soon.

UK (dynamic at least) does have alarm. Can't believe it's an option. Total no brainer to put something on it, even if we then choose to install something better! Do Toyota have total faith in their keyless entry etc Mmmm
Good luck

"Factory" alarm it means installed by dealer is no meaning because each car in same way is very, very easy to deactivate by thief (eg. Right wheel arh). Best way is privet system with GPS+GSM localization on your mobile phone - 100$ & 2hrs installation - it's all.

How about GSM jammers, Herman?
In Bulgaria the insurance companies require install of GPS tracker and customer pays 300€ for it but easy to steal a car with GPS.
Keyless entry is easy to break with repeater or replacing the ECU with one with authorized key owned by thief.
