Dealer experience when preordering?

Toyota Australia are tight lipped about the C-HR. We only know certain features, specs and colours. And dealers themselves don't seem to know any more than what is on the website.

What are experiences from others leading up to the release in your country?

Did dealers take deposits without any info? Were they more informative?

Cheers

Hi pt542 and Welcome, I Ordered mine back in September when the dealer did not even have the model to show me and the accessories for the vehicle were not shown ie protection pack, dealer was very good as the principle of my dealership and some others there had seen the pre production model so had limited information but was enough for me to place an order.
In the UK prior to the cars actually arriving in the dealerships some of the sales team went on a two day course where they could see and drive the cars and then there was a three day training session in the dealership.
Sales team are pretty good at my local dealership, and have been very helpful. Toyota, on the other hand, are totally useless. No cars available in the UK with premium pack, and no guarantee of delivery and registration before the change to the road tax on 1st April. Pretty poor not having cars available at launch, because nobody buying a hybrid wants a £140 a year road tax bill. Toyota told me leather and JBL stereo are special order from the factory, as if they were something out of the ordinary. It's only leather upholstery and a stereo for gawds sake, I don't want to upgrade to run the car on hydrogen!! Zero road tax is a big incentive to buy the hybrid version, and I can see a lot of customers walking away.

I wish my local dealership was like this. They only knew as much as the website and a special promotional brochure. Time will tell...

I have a feeling this is what will happen in Australia... I reckon they just don't want a showroom of cars that won't sell!

This is what my dealership was mentioning. They're having one mid-Feb. Still cutting it fine for a late-Feb launch though.
Pre-sales started in September. My local dealer had presentation ( sent me by mail) and real photos (made by salesman) from somewhere in toyota training center .Also Toyota invited sales people to the race way where they could drive c hr and based on that telling people 'real story' Additionally Toyota send few c hr to Poland so each dealer had possibility to organize short -opening day where people could see car ( different versions) ,get in, touch (not drive as those cars were manually assembling without homologation)

First orders were made by e-platform and In first 3days of pre sales -85 people bought C HR ( paying deposits)
