Dealer discounts

From what I'm seeing from carwow and other places, Toyota is not offering to discount or offer any wriggle room on the C-HR book prices.

I was ready to smack down a deposit today, but was told that they wouldn't offer any discount, so I walked away.

There's no way I am paying full book price for a new car. I never have previously with other manufacturers, and have always been able to negotiate. But this particular dealer was unwilling to budge. Not good as the spec I want would come just slightly south of £30K.

They also told me that they only have an allocation of 16 vehicles per quarter.

I know it's an eagerly sought after vehicle, but I get the impression that the early adopters will get fleeced, and give it 6 months or so the dealers will start to discount.

Unfortunately due to PCP running out on my current car which I'm handing back I had no other choice, yolo so am still going to be smiling once behind the wheel even though I'd paid full price, have heard panoramic roof will be available later in the year as well as other things most prob 0% interest.
Got 14% off lease price. Not sure how that works for list price.
I always wanted a panoramic roof, as available on some Toyotas. I wonder how reliable this information is? I would hate to wait on the off chance and then find all the allocation was sold. My dealer tells me he has an allocation of 50 for the whole year for his branch. He has sold 6 so far.
A panoramic roof would be good as the interior of the car is so dark. In fact I hadn't noticed how dark it was until looking at it on a cold foggy afternoon yesterday.
Was also hoping on a Panoramic roof for the C-HR but was told they will leave those options later for the longevity of the C-HR otherwise it will have a short life without having these options added later.
Don't see how they could possibly fit anything but the smallest of sunroofs into the CHR. The roofline curves, and then falls away too sharply towards the rear for anything like a panoramic panel.

I got the same story. We shall see!
My dealer said Toyota has instructed there should be no discounts on the CHR. He told me they had sold 11 of their allocation of 72, which to be honest, isn't terribly impressive. I suspect that when the £140 road tax comes into force for the CHR hybrid in April, there will be even fewer sales, discounts available, and a lot of ex-demo and pre-reg cars hitting the forecourts.
