The dashcam from my previous car takes up too much windsreen place on my C-HR.
Can anyone recommend one I can use? I think the windscreen is too sloped.

I have a Nextbase 402G Professional mounted on a nonslip mat on the top of the dash and connected to the 12v in the cubbyhole between the seats. We ran the cable along the dash, down the door pillar under the passenger seat and up using stickybacked double sided Velcro. Works a treat.

Check the reviews for the branch of Halfords that you will use....some are good, some not so. But much cheaper than getting dealer to do it.

Mofun® Car Sat Nav Friction GPS Rubber Dash Board Non Stick Mount Holder Mat Ultra-Slim Portable For Tomtom Garmin Navman Mio iPhone Samsung Cellphone etc

Search on Amazon. It's nonslip and the sucker of the satnav mount sticks to the shiny middle bit of the mat. Costs less than a fiver!

When I got my car in May, I queried having a dash cam wired in permanently, it seems a relatively easy job especially using manufacturers electrical kits and an installer like Halfords.
I was advised that to do so may invalidate the vehicle warranty in cases where a fault could be connected, however small, to the installation of the camera.
In this day and age it seems unbrlievable that a dash cam option is not available.

I have rang Toyota customer services and they tell me that any fault occuring from a dashcam hardwired from anyone other than Toyota will invalidate the warranty. However it will only be invalidated for the actual fault that was caused by the hard wire and the rest of the car will be fully warranted.

I picked up my C-HR last month and was asked if I want to have a dashcam fitted. It was a Nextbase they were offering but wanted just over £300. I already ha e a Nextbase 512 which I removed from the Rav but no way am I paying £300. The safest bet would be just to plug it into the accessory docked in the arm rest to avoid any warranty issues

I've just had the toyota nextbase cam fitted. £225 fully fitted. Including back up battery and 32gb card. Had nextbase 512gw fitted before. But this is much tidier and hopefully might deter windows being broken by thiefs after the camera.

Just watch where you wire the cable up the A Pillar. i ran mine up the left side A Pillar but i now cant receive DAB signal. Dealer suggested getting a shielded cable but im not so sure.... also about dash cams preventing thefts.... some scumbag smashed my window 2 days after delivery just to steal my dash cam!

What I was afraid of. Touch wood I've had dash cam fitted to my saab previous to chr and never had issues with theft etc. But chr costing a bit more than saab. Didn't want to take risk. Why had toyota 1 fitted. Also with the issue with dab radio signal. Bit neater and more out of my sight.
