Been today at my dealer to switch to winter tires and mentioned the problem. They said I wasn't the only one they had to deal with the exact same issue. I guess I just was the first :)

Finally had the faulty cupholders replaced today; not bad since it first occurred in October last and has needed us to chase the Dealer...

Also had the latest recall done - bit of tape around some wires near the battery. Sort of job done by the side of the road to get you home.

One puddle light had given up so they replaced both, the second as a precaution.

Had the key programmed for all-window-closure as previously alerted to on here. Works a treat. Thanks to the email originator.
Service Manager at first said it couldn't be done but we showed him a copy of an email from the Forum saying it had been done for free by another Dealer. Think his first response was maybe to try and deter us but I pointed out that these days most cars have wiring harnesses and software capabilities for all options regardless of whether they are specified by the model or customer. It's cheaper to build them all the same and configure them later - at the Dealer. I may generalise somewhat there, but it's common practice to build all the same. I think.
